Drum roll, 12 Inches cut off

Today was my going to the big(ish) City for fancy stuff and grooming day (as to which more below) and after a day of foraging rather than baking, progress now stands as follows:

  • Mince pies baked- none obvs as I was in Town, but I did purchase a few fancy comestibles at Valve and Crolla
  • Mince pies consumed – planning for a couple whilst card writing
  • Christmas jumpers knitted – *coughs* still not watched the you tube tutorial…
  • cards – moved to the coffee table.
  • presents – smithereens items now declared cancelled by Amazon. However, the trudge around town added a few to the pile and secured some replacements for one item. I have now declared all further shopping cancelled and everyone will just have to put up with what there is and anything I make in the following days during my “leisure time”.
  • personal glamour and grooming – Voila, pic of new barnet below
  • bulbs planted – big fat zero

The trip to town started swimmingly, with me actually securing a space in the station car park and then managing to get into it on only the second (OK third) attempt. Alas, the train was late but undeterred I headed off, big bag at the ready, to complete my Christmas purchases. In a foolhardy way, I went to Valvona and Crolla first and by the time I was at the far end of George Street I knew I should have heeded Keith’s sage advice and only got one kilo of risotto rice. However, having been advised of the year long waiting list for vialone nano, I had stocked up…Anyway, with an hour to go before the chop I was footsore and limping so I took myself to a Japanese restaurant (Hope Omoritsu – would strongly recommend) on Queensferry Street and had some utterly banging dumplings. Somewhat restored, I limped round the corner to the hairdresser and then took full advantage of the coffee and sweetie offering by way of dessert.

My desire for further shopping when I emerged from the giant heap of clippings on the floor was distinctly muted. I resolved to gun for the 4.07 train and gritted my teeth. I managed to scoop up a few books and some wrapping items en route and, hirpling at top speed – made it with 3 minutes to spare. I shall doubtless feel the consequences tomorrow. Thankfully though, there’s not usually much demand for limbo dancing at the Ruthven Christmas Party so I shall deaden the aches with red wine, pizza and the soo boozy it is likely flammable tiramisu resting in the pantry.

See below for the groomed hair styles of the bitches on the green sofa tonight. As always quiz questions below that (I now realise that in my sleep deprived state I forgot to include days 10 and 11 so have popped them below and also updated the day’s 10 and 11 blogs. I will catch up on answers tomorrow. )

  1. actually it should be Q10 Q11 and Q12 wasn’t paying attention to the details obviously!
Looking up answer to question 11 is is the Giant Stingray? This I think is the latest!
I’m still well behind you on the readiness scale…I have just about ‘lost the plot.’
